Human Gnomes

In Victorian Era gardens were important for wealthy europeans to keep their status. They loved their gardens and didn't like when they were empty. Because of that the garden Gnomes and Hermits started gaining popularity. But those were usually from terracotta or clay. Rich Victorians wanted humans, so they started hiring poor citizens to stand in they gardens as gnomes. Human Gnomes received payment, food, water and pillow and were obliged to never leave the garden during work time and never speak to different servants.
